All About Robert
A fiber and mixed media artist Robert was born in Doylestown, Bucks County Pennsylvania. His current studio is located in Fort Myers, Florida. Robert attended Bucknell University and Indiana University of PA and received a BFA. He has been a professional artist since 1980. Robert also served as executive Director of Greater Harrisburg Arts Council from 1992 to 2012. He was a set designer for the Pennsylvania Govern Arts Award and a home makeover designer. He is a prize winning exhibitor at national juried arts festivals across the country from 1980 to the present. He has bewen known for his hand painted acrylic one of a kind canvas floor coverings - known as floorcloths. One day he decided to digitally print his whimsical geometric designs onto 100% linen fabric. A new line of women's clothing was born when the highly acclaimed HGTV television featured his unique studio, creations and gardens. Later a line of hand silkscreen black and white clothing featuring bugs and other images was born and aptly named Ants on Your Pants. A native Pennsylvanian, Robert now lives in Fort Myers, FL and his studio is located at the Fort Myers Alliance for the Arts Union Art Studios. He is partnering with Deb Frenkel in a new colklection called "MakingHappyHeArts" to create funky mixed media lamps with handpainted lampshades. A portion of the sales will be donated to Freedom Waters Foundation, a fabulous nonprofit dear to Robert and Deb's hearts.
